Once again Rexam has impressed us with the level of information provided about its markets. An overview of the market and industry characteristics uses external statistics, charts and graphs to support a discussion of current trends in the packaging industry, while descriptions of the group’s major markets include forecasts for growth. The report also features a good ‘at a glance’ introduction to Rexam, and a range of financial and non-financial KPIs are clearly identified alongside the group’s objectives.
Environmental KPIs are among those presented, but the corporate responsibility information generally lacks integration within the business review. Additional navigational aids, such as tabbing, sub-contents and dividers, would also be useful. On the whole, however, this is a strong report with few real weaknesses. It even manages to outline its relationships with customers and suppliers in a clear fashion – those struggling with this area might like to take a look.

It is the functionality offered by Rexam’s HTML report that helps it to stand out. User tools include a print basket and the ability to make, save, download and print notes. Users can also create their own PDF by selecting which sections of the report they wish to download. The search facility could be easier to find though.
