Strengths:
Marketplace coverage Forward-looking information
Weaknesses:
Corporate responsibility information Employees
The front of Vodafone’s report and review feature the message: ‘Delivering on our strategic objectives’. Inside, there is some good information about these objectives – they’re clearly identified and a decent level of explanation is provided. Marketplace information is also good, covering the group’s key markets as well as the regulatory framework and developments in each of these markets. Statistics showing the group’s market share and market penetration are used to support the narrative. One final plus? The report contains more forward-looking information than many of its peers.

On the downside, the level of information provided about social/environmental issues is fairly limited and – given the group has 66,000 employees – this type of content could be significantly expanded. Navigation in the report is also quite weak, with so much information it can be difficult to pull out particular content. This is less of a problem in the review.

Online:
There is little that particularly stands out about the converted PDF – image-based version of Vodafone’s report. A chapter selection and search function are provided; a print basket enables users to print selected pages; and a download centre lets users download the report in full or in sections.
